"yet, through all the gloom, I see the rays of ravishing light and glory" Memorable Quotes from 1776Dr. Benjamin Franklin: We've spawned a new race here, Mr. Dikinson. Rougher, simpler; more violent, more enterprising; less refined. We're a new nationality. We require a new nation. ( some of my favorites ) | | 1:19a |
Is it already that time of year again? Dear Santa...
Dear Santa,
This year I've been busy!
Last Monday I donated bone marrow to moonkittenluna in a life-saving procedure (300 points). In July I pushed a_white_rain in the mud (-17 points). In October I caught a purse-snatcher who stole onlykindalost's purse (30 points). Last month on a flight to Bangladesh, I stole the emergency flight information card (-40 points). In May I turned demon_angel_00 in for running naked in the mall (3 points).
Overall, I've been nice (276 points). For Christmas I deserve a toy train!

Screw the picture, I just wanted to quote the joke. German WW2 aircraft is salvagedSven Johanson from Minnesota, an Ace fighter pilot, addressing the ladies auxiliary of the VFW told a harrowing tale of being attacked by a squadron of Focke Wulfs.
"Ya, they vaz everywhere, fockers behind me, fockers above me, fockers below me, fockers all around me. But I fight them off, shoot some down and lucky to get home, you betcha."
After his rousing description of the battle, the Ladies Auxiliary President explained to the group the the fockers were the dreaded Focke Wulf fighters of the Third Reich.
Sven interrupted saying, "No, these fockers were Messerschmitts." | | 9:30p |
"fundamentalist Muslim imperialism" Hot for martyrdom "The sexual aspect is, of course, just one part of this. But I can tell you what it is not about. Not about Israel, not about Iraq, not about Afghanistan. They are mere excuses. Algerian Muslim fundamentalists murdered 150,000 other Algerian Muslims, sometimes slitting the throats of children in front of their parents. Are you seriously telling me that this was because of Israel's treatment of the Palestinians or American foreign policy?"
He's exasperated now, visibly angry at what he sees as a willful Western foolishness. "Stop asking what you have done wrong. Stop it! They're slaughtering you like sheep and you still look within. You criticize your history, your institutions, your churches. Why can't you realize that it has nothing to do with what you have done but with what they want." ( full text ) | | 9:58p |
"Spare us the ceremony, we all know what you think of us." Thoughts on the Election Results from a Soldier in IraqI know you probably get a lot of messages asking you to read stuff on your show, but I BEG you to read this…… I would like you to tell America exactly what they did to their soldiers on Tuesday, and what WE think about our countrymen right now.( full letter ) |
